Handwritten letter from Mulk Raj Anand to John Lehmann, including Lehmann's penciled notes in response, dated 02/18/1945. Anand is sending 'the essay I wrote to you about' which addresses 'from an Indian point of view the English work of the past - notably of Morgan Forster, Edward Thompson and Dennis Kincaid'. Lehmann's handwritten note says that it is 'sympathetic and interesting but not quite right for me'.
