The Search

Editor:

Hugh J. Schonfield, E. J. Langford Garstin

Publisher:

For three years, Hugh J. Schonfield, a British scholar of the New Testament and the Early Church, and E. J. L. Garstin, an occultist, published The Search, a quarterly periodical concerned primarily with the study of esoteric religions but with broad interests in "Religion, Philosophy, Science, Literature, and Art." The Hogarth Press published the first two issues in 1931, but conflicts with the Press compelled the editors to begin publishing the journal independently from July onwards.
