Ali - Twilight in Delhi

 

Instructions from Mr. Lehmann with regard to Mr. Ali's letter of August 4th, 1940.

 

(1) Letter not to be taken as complete guide to Indian publications.

 

(2) The 4 papers named on Page 1 of the letter should all have copies.

 

(3) The papers (b) which he mentions on page 1 of his letter should all have letters explaining that copies have gone to Mr. Ali for dispatch to them.

 

(4) The three distinguished Indians on page 2 should have copies.

 

[*x*] (5) If A.H. Wheeler & Sons of the Railway Bookstalls have a London office, get in touch with them.

 

(6) Of the three British mentioned on page 3, Mr. Desmond MacCarthy and Mr. Maurice Richardson should have copies sent to them individually. Mr. Randall Swingler of The Daily Worker should only have a copy if he writes in for it. Mr. Ackerley will have a copy through The Listener and Mr. Orwell through the Tribune.
