Dear Woolf,

Allen & Unwin havent [sic] answered my enquiry about how they would propose to dispose of an addition of 2/6 to the price. So I gratefully accept your offer to publish the book - provided that T. Jones, whose wisdom is very great, doesnt [sic] send me a telegram tomorrow morning. Whether or no the reading of five chapters

has utterly flattened him out, he has [one illeg. letter crossed out] he has not until now given any verdict. I have told him that unless he is strongly ^{of a} contrary opinion and says so by telegram I shall place myself in your hands. I hope that nothing but a reading of the book by yourself and ^or your wife stands between yourself [one illeg. word crossed out] need be interposed before publication ^printing. The enclosed 8 chapters

which are 55% of the total bulk have had their final revision and - subject to publisher's criticisms - are complete, but for two sentences. Their fault is due to my failure to find exact data. The rest of the book I hope to send on Mond[ay]. or Tues.

Would Thursday 31st suit you for me to visit you about midday to discuss all details? I would bring maps. If Thursday
