Letter from Leonard Woolf to Mary Gordon (15/01/1936)

Library:

University of Reading, Special Collections

Leonard Woolf informs Mary Gordon that they have some suggestions for her manuscript: the Press suggests that her usage of poetry may turn away readers, and that and that they prefer her first version of her manuscript versus her second version. Another complication is that the Press believes she is using several cliched phrases towards the end of the book. The Press adds that they are returning the photographs with suggestions of which ones they preferred, and asks for her own suggestions.
