New York 21, N.Y.

18th February, 1953.

Dear Mr. Laughlin,

Mr. Woolf has asked me to thank you for your letter of February 9 and to say that the last time we heard from Ahmed Ali - in 1951 - he wrote from the Embassy of Pakistan at Peking. I hope you will be able to contact him there.

With regard to your third paragraph, we did not handle American rights in TWILIGHT IN DELHI so, even if you decide to reprint something from that book, I'm afraid it would still be necessary to get in touch with the author.

Yours sincerely, | for The Hogarth Press Ltd.
