Covent Garden, W.C.2.

2nd February, 1944

Dear Sirs,

We have now been able to go into the matter of a reply due on Ali: Twilight in Delhi, and are very distressed to find that we have by mistake sent the amount to Mr. Ali, instead of to yourselves, as we should have done. We enclose herewith a copy statement of account, through which you will see that there was a royalty due to you of £2 12 10. A cheque for this amount was sent with the original statement to Mr. Ali on July 29th.

We are extremely sorry that this error should have occurred, and ask you to accept our apologies. If you will be so very kind as to <inform>*1 us what steps we should now take, we shall do all in our power <to put the ma>*1tter right.

Yours fatyhfully. [sic] | for The Hogarth Press.
