May 30th, 1950.

Dear Dr. Fischer,

Mr. Woolf, who has now been told by Mr. Raymond of your interest in THE CAPTAIN’S DEATHBED, has asked me to tell you that the rights in this book are free and that we are sending you a copy under separate cover.

We cannot, at the moment, offer you the rights in THE YEARS but Mr. Woolf hopes that he can arrange to free them and will then give you an opportunity of considering this book.

Perhaps you would kindly reply direct to Mr. Woolf at Monks House, Rodmell, Nr. Lewis, Sussex.

Yours sincerely, | p.p. The Hogarth Press Ltd.
