The Manager
The Hogarth Press

Dear Sir,

I hasten to reply to your letter of today hoping that you may succeed in selling t[h]e American rights of Goldenweiser's "Talks with Tolstoi". For t[h]e last four[?] years[?] I [?] offered it to several American publishers, - t[h]e last time[?] only just recently to Frank-Maurice, - but failed.

It would of course be best if you managed to sell t[h]e American rights for a lump sum down, be it even small, than on a royalty basis.

Yours faithfully | S.S. Koteliansky [signature]
