Woolf. Three Guineas
Dear Sirs,
We have handed the MS. of the above book to Mr. Spence and he has said that you will be able to do the printing and binding with the greatest possible speed. We explained to him that the MS. is not complete, as notes will have to follow.
The book should be set in 10 point on 12 Baskerville, and the page is to be uniform with that of A ROOM OF ONE'S OWN in the Uniform Edition of Virginia Woolf's works, i.e., 26 lines in the page, length of line 18 ems.
As we explained to Mr. Spence, we shall print 15000 copies Crown 8vo, using 10000 of the first edition, and probably reversing the 5000 to be cut down later for the Uniform Edition. We should, of course, not have the 5000 cut down until we are certain that we should not require more than the original 10000 of the Crown 8vo edition. We enclose copy for the prelims [preliminaries].
We shall be obliged if you will let us have galley-proofs[sic] at the earliest possible moment. Would you let us know when we can expect them?
Yours faithfully | THE HOGARTH PRESS, | MANAGER.
