Sir Hugh Walpole,
The Book Society,
13 Grosvenor Place, S.W.1.

28th May, 1941

.

Dear Sir Hugh,

We are bringing out Virginia's book as at present arranged at the end of June. It will be called Between the Acts, and though it is slightly short will count as a full-length novel of course. The Book Society has given me the impression that Hogarth books are not very much up its street recently, but if you are interested in this really amazing piece of work I will see that you get page proofs the moment they are ready. The season is getting late and we are in some hurry so we shall be pushing ahead into print with very little delay from the time the page proofs are ready.

Yours ever, | John Lehmann. [signature]
