Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter GHG/P of 16 March, I shall be very glad if you will, as you suggest, send Mr Forster's PHAROS & PHARILLON to your New York House and try to secure a decision by cable before the end of the month. You will, however, I am sure, understand that under the circumstances I may have to consider another offer for this book before I leave England.

I think from what you say it is not worth while troubling you to send THE LETTERS OF STEPHEN REYNOLDS to New York, and I should be much obliged if you would let me have the proofs back.

Yours truly | Leonard Woolf [signature]
