Dear Mr. Koteliansky,

We have received an enquiry from Mr. Robert de Graaf, on behalf of Pocket Books Inc. of New York, for permission to reprint the short story 'The Gentleman from San Francisco' in a collection of short stories which they are publishing. If you are agreeable to this, we should suggest a fee of Ten Guineas. Would you please let me know how you feel about this?
