Dear Sirs,
On the 1st October 1943 and 18th February 1944 we had two small amounts in respect of quotation fee on Mr. J.C. Ransom’s book Grace After Meat which we sent to Mr. Ransom c/o you. We find that Mr. Ransom has never presented these <cheques> for payment, and we wonder if they have reached him. At the same time, we fear that we may have been at fault in making these payments to Mr. Ransom, c/o you, and not direct to yourselves. If this is the case we must ask you to accept our apologies, and we shall be glad if you will kindly advise us on the matter so that we can put it in order.
Yours faithfully, | for The Hogarth Press,
