Dear Sirs,

 

We have learnt with much regret of the accident to approximately one ream of the printed sheets of A ROOM OF ONE’S OWN. We note that you are claiming for the amount involved, and that we may send our invoice to you. This will follow in a day or two. [2 vertical lines drawn on the left of the last two lines]

 

We have instructed The Garden City Press to despatch to you 21 reams E. M. antique wove 30 X 40 50 ½ lbs, to be allocated as follows:

 

10 reams for TRAGEDY 
10 reams for STRUCTURE OF THE NOVEL

1 ream replacement for ROOM OF ONE’S OWN.

 

From this one ream, will you please run off 340 pages of signatures G and H. We shall not require the other damaged signatures to be replaced.
