Woolf: The Hotel
Dear Mr. Brace,
We are publishing here, probably in May, a play which I have written called The Hotel. Its description is in the Spring List. I do not think that there is much chance of your wanting it for the United States, but I will send [*am sending*] you a copy of it to look at if you care to see it.
I am also writing a book for Gollancz, and I ought to have finished it by about May. He is going to publish it as a Left Book Club choice. It will be called The Defence of Western Civilization or possibly Barbarians at the Gates, and it is supposed to deal with the question of toleration and liberty in the present world. Would you care for me to send you a copy of it when it is finished?
Yours sincerely,
