LETTER TO A BLACK SHEEP by Francis Birrell.
Dear Sir,
There is an unearned balance of £7.0.6d in respect of royalties on the above book, and as the sales have now dropped to less than 6 copies in the year, we propose, with your acquiescence, not to render any further royalty statements unless or until the above mentioned unerrned [sic] balance has been wiped off. You will realize the unnecessary amount of work entailed in rendering accounts in respect of books which have practically ceased to sell, and we should be very glad if you would allow us to make the arrangement suggested.
Yours faithfully, | THE HOGARTH PRESS. | MANAGER.
