11th July, 1934.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of the 9th inst., regarding the remaindering of HAMPSON:O PROVIDENCE.  This book was published in February 1931, over two years ago, and is therefore governed by regulation "D" with regard to Remainders on the Recommendations of the Joint Committee, which has been approved by the Publishers Association [letter c and i overlapped] and Associated Booksellers.  We regret therefore we are unable to make any allowance on the five copies mentioned in your letter, as these were purchased by you more than six months prior to the notice in the Publishers Circular.

Yours faithfully, | The Hogarth Press, | Peggy Belsher [signature] | Secretary.
