Dear Sir,
With reference to your letter of 13 June regarding "Empire and Commerce in Africa", I am negotiating with the Labour Research Department with regard to taking over the stock of this book, but I have not yet heard definitely from them that my offer has been accepted.
If my offer is accepted, I should be glad to discuss your proposal with you, though it is doubtful whether I could let you have as many as 500 copies, the whole stock being only about 550. I will communicate again with you as soon as I hear from the L.R.D.
Yours faithfully | Leonard Woolf [signature]
