Dear Miss Gyngell,

 

I cannot agree to Milhado taking 25% commission. The usual commission that I allow is 10% and, only very exceptionally, 15%, which is the absolute maximum. It is obviously not worth while allowing these kinds of broadcast if the agent takes 25%. I am prepared to agree to give you 25% and, in this case, 15% to Milhado. I am quite ready for you to attempt direct negotiations with overseas broadcasting authorities, provided that you will refer the terms in each case to me before accepting them.
