Dear Mr Brace,
Very many thanks for your letter. I wrote to Mr Plomer at once about your offer with regard to "Turbot [sic] Wolfe". As a matter of fact, according to our contract with him, we have the power to arrange about an American edition, but in this case, as we agreed with you, I have asked him to cut out a portion of the book, so that we had better perhaps wait for the formal agreement until I hear from him.
As regards "The Village in the Jungle" I will let you have a short introduction as soon as possible.
The sales of "Mrs Dalloway" and "The Common Reader" have been very good, and of "Eliza Fay" quite satisfactory, here; I hope you have found the same in America.
With kind regards | Yours sincerely | Leonard Woolf [signature]
