Dear Mr Grubb,

We have this morning had an offer from an American publisher for Mr Forster's PHAROS & PHARILLON, and, as the time is so short, we have accepted it. I am sorry that we could not wait for the reply of your American House, but, as I explained in my former letter, it is a question of fixing the business up before I leave at the beginning of next week.

Yours very truly | Leonard Woolf [signature]
