Dear Mr Knopf,

Many thanks for your letter of yesterday. We can arrange for you to have the American rights in PHAROS & PHARILLON by E.M. Forster, you setting the book up in the States and paying a 10% royalty, provided that you will agree to pay £25 in advance of royalties on the day of publication.

If you agree to this, would you let me know by return as I am leaving for Spain next Tuesday?

Yours very truly | Leonard Woolf [signature]
