Dear Mr. Spender,

We have heard from Penguin Books that you have consented to write a note for their edition of The Waves. We are delighted to hear this, and have pleasure in sending you your letter of September 18th to Mr. Woolf, in which you discuss the book. Mr. Woolf would be very glad to have your letter back when you have finished with it, so may I ask you to return it.

Yours very truly,
