An inquiry conducted by the National Institute of Industrial Psychology, this study aims to uncover the personal qualities necessary in becoming a good teacher. One of the main criteria for success is a person's degree of happiness in her job, so interviews are conducted to illustrate this. The world of secondary school teaching is depicted partly through autobiographical accounts and partly through an aggregate of data.
