Graves's second book to be published by the Hogarth Press, "Mock Beggar Hall' is a collection of philosophical poems that incorporating some Eastern philosophy and some psychoanalytical speculation. The cover is a woodcut illustration of a bat designed by William Nicholson. Some critical work has been done on the book, for instance see Pharand and Kersnowski.
