The Hogarth Press reply to Gordon Baxter's letters dated 09/04/1940 and 24/04/1940 (MS 2750/552/46 and MS 2750/552/47) they grant permission for the use of an extract from The Common Reader offering a reduced fee of one and a half guineas. On the back of this first reply dated, there is also a reply dated 30/04/1940 where they agree to the use of a reduced passage for a fee of one guinea. [There is a pencilled P.T.O. annotation in the corner of both sides of the letter].
